i agree with you on …
i agree with you on most things… but you the things that you said didn’t include after effects or photoshop, and their are some pretty cool new features with them… for photoshop, the new Content-Aware fill now helps me alot… and i can’t say much about the new Roto-Brush tool in After Effects, but I know those are 2 things that Adobe is very proud of.

photoshop is the only program that has a whole new tool. That’s exactly what I hate, they push Photoshop over everything else and they actually don’t even care about Fireworks. Fireworks CS4 has a ton of bugs and it crashes on me almost every time I use it. I found printing bugs in Illustrator, too. You would think that for the couple hundred dollars these programs cost that maybe they would have more refined features to them and minimal bugs or some patches within 6 months of release.

There are good new …
There are good new features for PS and AF,which could be worth upgrading if u deal heavily with those programs.We webdesigners dont got much from flash(they finnaly implemented code completion for external classes,but advanced developers use external IDEs like flashdevelop which are much better at that anyway) and a bunch of templates.If you’re a designer and not a coder,then it could be worth it.
As for DW and FW,I dont think those are going much further anyway.

Adobe screwed up …
Adobe screwed up way too many things when they bought Macromedia’s products. They just tacked on a ton of cute little tools that are impossible to use and don’t do much, anyway, and good luck to any new users looking for a gradual learning curve.

Adam your right Adobe is just in it for the money. And their programs don’t even help noobs to learn the basics of web design and coding. I would recommend almost every free web development on the web then this one. And I recommend the company i work for not to buy and i will do the same for any client i consult for as well

I’m in TOTAL agreement with you. I haven’t seen anything in CS5 that could amplify my work flow to warrent the cost of an upgrade.
Hell, the jump from CS2 to CS4 wasn’t much of a jump either.

I agree. I think the main drive is to force businesses to continually upgrade as the products are not backward compatible, Macromedia did this as well. One reason why I don’t like taking on team projects anymore is because I don’t want to upgrade just so I can work with the team….
I agree about the importance of learning the code from it’s base up, I will use DW for generating bulk code, but I rewrite it and clean it up by hand, there are no mm tags in my code ever.

I agree with u Adam, Its nothing special with it… looks the same as cs4… the design isnt wven changed… hello… they made iPhone support but Apple doesnt even allow it anymore… just wasted money.. ill stay with cs4… well, maybe update after effects couse its alitlle buggy right now.. or maybe just the graphiccard =)
